Person Biography:
Pieter Joubert, a talented individual, pursued his academic endeavors at the University of Cape Town under the guidance of esteemed professors Rosalie van der Gucht and Robert Mohr. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama in 1972. Subsequently, he was contracted by all four Arts councils, marking the beginning of his illustrious career as an actor.
Joubert's professional journey commenced in Johannesburg in 1980, with his film and television debut in "The Fourth Reich" and "Taxi to Soweto," both directed by Manie van Rensburg. He went on to feature in a diverse range of projects, including "Dark City," "Laser Mission" alongside Brandon Lee and Ernest Borgnine, "Nag van die 19de," "Vyfster 1 & 2" with Regardt van den Bergh, and "You must be Joking" and "There's a Zulu on my stoep" under the direction of Leon Schuster.
Throughout his career, Joubert has demonstrated his versatility by taking on leading roles in numerous television series, including "Manakwalanners," "Paradys," "Samaritaan," "Gazette," "Vyfster 1 & 2," "Die Jare Daarna," "Town Guard," "Huisjakker," and "Sagmoedige Neelsie."
Joubert's accolades include the 1976 Piers Nicholson Award for Best Contribution as an Actor, the 1994 Artes Award for Best Supporting Male Actor for "Manakwalanners," and the 1998 Pendoring Award for Best Actor National Radio.
In addition to his work on stage and screen, Joubert has also been involved in teaching TV acting courses for aspiring actors. His dedication to his craft has earned him recognition and respect within the industry.
