Phyllis Callow, later to be known as Phyllis Douglas, embarked on her life's journey in the vibrant city of Hollywood, California, where she was born to Ridgeway Callow, a native of the picturesque Isle of Man, located off the west coast of England, and his wife, Peggy Watts, a renowned Ziegfeld Girl and socialite. At the tender age of two, Phyllis Douglas made her debut in the iconic film Gone with the Wind (1939),playing the adorable baby "Bonnie Blue Butler".
As her childhood unfolded, Phyllis's family relocated to New York, where her father, Ridgeway, was employed by the illustrious Howard Hughes as an accountant. The Callow family eventually settled in the sun-kissed city of Hollywood, where their children grew up amidst the picturesque landscapes of Malibu and West Los Angeles. Ridgeway, who had previously served in the Royal Air Force (RAF),went on to forge a successful career in the motion picture industry, earning numerous accolades as a second unit director.
