Philip LaZebnik, a renowned individual, hails from Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, where he first drew his first breath. However, his formative years were spent in Columbia, Missouri, USA, where he was raised. This intellectual powerhouse subsequently attended Harvard University, where he pursued a rigorous course of study in Ancient Greek language and classics.
Before transitioning to a career in the world of musical theatre, LaZebnik briefly donned the mantle of a professional violinist, performing with the prestigious Boston Ballet Orchestra, the Boston Pops, and the Tanglewood Festival Orchestra. In addition, he co-founded the Chicago Premiere Society alongside his brother, solidifying his bond with family and fostering a sense of collaboration.
As a master wordsmith, LaZebnik has penned the book, music, and lyrics for an impressive twenty-plus musicals and plays. His impressive repertoire includes notable contributions to the writing of Pocahontas (1995),Mulan (1998),and The Prince of Egypt (1998),all Disney and Dreamworks productions.
