Phil, a talented photographer, graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in photography and a mere $800 in his pocket. Undeterred by his financial situation, he displayed remarkable resilience, working as a freelance photo-assistant before venturing out on his own.
As an accomplished photographer, Phil specialized in capturing the essence of music, celebrity, and fashion, collaborating with renowned artists such as Green Day, The White Stripes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Christina Aguilera, Ludacris, Jay-Z, The Roots, Trent Reznor, My Chemical Romance, The Killers, and Fall Out Boy.
In 2005, Phil embarked on a new creative journey, shooting his first music video and short film, "The Listening Dead". Written, directed, edited, and financed by Phil himself, the film was completed in 2006 and went on to receive numerous accolades at film festivals worldwide. Rue Morgue magazine named "The Listening Dead" the "Best Horror Short of 2007", and it continues to be showcased at festivals and special screenings globally.
Phil's second short film, "Far Out", premiered at the CFC's Worldwide Short Film Festival in Toronto in 2007, where it was swiftly acquired by The Sundance Channel. The film's second screening at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, resulted in a Bronze Medal win for Horror Shorts, following in the footsteps of "The Listening Dead", which had previously received the Best of Show award at the same festival.
In 2008, Phil relocated to Los Angeles to focus on directing, while simultaneously developing feature projects and creating music videos. Some of his notable music video credits include Korn's "Oildale" and Opeth's "The Devil's Orchard", which was praised as one of the Best Music Videos of 2011 by Revolver Magazine, Guitar World Magazine, AOL's Noisecreep, and numerous online music blogs.
