Peter Lewis Walsh is a multifaceted individual with a diverse career spanning various fields. He began his journey in film acting in the fall of 2014.
As an actor, Walsh has appeared in numerous films, including Spotlight, Allen and Imran, Davey Crocket, Dungeons and Dragons, Delirium, The Diner, Bleed for This, The Resurrection of Victoria Wheeler, The Lake of Simon, Loud Places, and Laila B. He has also taken on roles in web series such as The Insurance Tapes.
Walsh was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in various locations, including Long Island, Upstate New York, and New England. He began acting in First Grade and in High School produced and directed several of his own plays.
At Oberlin College, Walsh worked with professor Herbert Blau, a renowned dramatist, critic, and performance theorist. He was a founding member of the ODC, an internationally known dance company, and took courses in Shakespeare and drama. Walsh also performed in college dramatics under the direction of Wes Sanders and studied dance performance.
Oberlin College friends and classmates included notable figures such as Tony Award-winning actor Bill Irwin, choreographer Brenda Way, Tony Award-winning designer Julie Taymor, and Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Franz Wright.
After graduation, Walsh worked for a year at a film company in Greater Boston and for another year at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He has held various roles, including museum administrator, designer, communications director, writer, publisher, consultant, and web producer, at institutions such as the Harvard Museums of Natural History, the Fogg Art Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
Walsh is also an art critic and has an international reputation as a media scholar. He has spoken frequently at MIT and has lectured at museums, colleges, and universities in the United States and Europe. His academic papers have been frequently cited in the scholarly literature and have been used internationally in teaching writing, media studies, and museum studies.
Walsh holds a master's degree in Art History from Harvard University and has studied film acting in Boston.
