Peter Lance is a distinguished and accomplished individual, boasting an impressive array of achievements in his professional career as an investigative reporter, screenwriter, and novelist. With a Master's degree from Columbia University's prestigious Graduate School of Journalism and a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law, Lance's educational background provides a solid foundation for his numerous accolades.
Throughout his 15-year tenure as a print reporter and network correspondent, Lance made a name for himself by producing and reporting for WNET and ABC News, earning three national news Emmy Awards and two New York area Emmy Awards. Prior to his stint in journalism, Lance worked as a Trial Prep Assistant in the Manhattan District Attorney's office, gaining valuable experience in the legal field.
Lance's transition into television writing and production saw him work as a writer and story editor on popular shows such as Crime Story and Miami Vice for NBC, eventually becoming the show runner on the critically acclaimed series Wiseguy for CBS. He co-created the television series Missing Persons for ABC and served as a writer and producer on JAG (NBC) and The Sentinel (UPN).
In addition to his television work, Lance is also a published author, with his novel First Degree Burn achieving national bestseller status. He has also adapted the book Veil: The Secret Wars of the CIA for HBO and written Terror.net for Showtime.
After taking a break from reporting, Lance returned to his investigative roots in 2001, delving into the FBI's investigation of al Qaeda in the years leading up to the 9/11 attacks. Since 2002, he has written three non-fiction bestsellers for HarperCollins: 1000 Years for Revenge (2003),Cover Up (2004),and Triple Cross (2006). His most recent book, Deal With The Devil, an epic Mafia exposé, was published in 2013.
