Peter relocated to Deadline in 2016, departing from his long-standing tenure at Variety, where he had been a stalwart presence since 1989, serving as the Editor-In Chief of that prominent trade publication. Prior to his entry into the film industry, Peter began his career as a staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, honing his journalistic skills before transitioning into the world of movie production. His impressive professional journey took him to Paramount, where he held the esteemed position of Vice President for Production, playing a pivotal role in the development and production of iconic films such as The Godfather, Rosemary's Baby, and Harold & Maude. Subsequently, Peter took on the role of Senior Vice President for Production at MGM, followed by a stint as President of Lorimar films. Notably, Peter is also a prolific author, having penned nine books, and serves as a member of PMC's esteemed board of advisors.
