Perry Morris, a renowned L.A. studio session drummer from Sherman Oaks, California, has had a distinguished career playing with numerous artists in the 1970s and 1980s. As a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA),Screen Actors Guild (SAG),and Local 47 Musicians Union in Hollywood, California, Perry has honed his craft in the entertainment industry.
Perry's impressive resume boasts collaborations with legendary artists such as Harry Nilsson, John Denver, the Coasters, Jimmy Webb, Joni Mitchell, Tim Bogert, and Jay Williams, to name a few. His extensive work has also included providing background music for television shows, commercials, and movie soundtracks at prominent studios like MGM Studios, Culver City, California; Universal Studios, North Hollywood, California; and Warner Bros. studios, Burbank, California.
Some of Perry's notable recording sessions took place at iconic studios such as the original "Gold Star" studios on Santa Monica and Vine Streets in Hollywood, The Record Plant, "Baby-O" studios on Sunset Boulevard, Wally Heider's studio in Hollywood, and "Sound City" in Van Nuys, California.
Perry's association with the Ludwig Drum company further solidified his status as a talented drummer. Moreover, his business acumen and industry connections enabled him to handle the business aspects of the band, booking shows at renowned venues like the Whiskey, Roxy, and Starwood in Hollywood.
Perry's strategic efforts led to the band securing a management company with William Nelson, owner of "ORR" management in Beverly Hills, California. This partnership resulted in the band's involvement in the "Stunt Rock" movie and record deal. Perry also booked the band for two Dick Clark TV special shows in 1982 and 1983, as well as the "Rocktober Blood" movie deal in 1983.
After taking a hiatus from the music industry, Perry transitioned into a successful career as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley in 1984.
