Percy Matsemela is a renowned filmmaker, widely recognized for his work on a trio of critically acclaimed motion pictures, including the 2006 cinematic masterpiece "Blood Diamond", which starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Djimon Hounsou, and Jennifer Connelly, and garnered six Academy Award nominations; the 2005 South African drama "Tsotsi", which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and was based on the novel of the same name by Athol Fugard; and the 2011 biographical drama "Machine Gun Preacher", which tells the true story of Sam Childers, a former drug dealer and gang member who became a Christian and founded an orphanage in war-torn Sudan.
