Biography

Pedro Rovisco was born in Estoril, Portugal to Maria do Rosário Rovisco de Andrade and António Miguel Rovisco de Andrade, and is the youngest of two kids. From an early age, Pedro exhibited a strong affinity for the stage, actively participating in numerous school productions before the age of 10.

However, it wasn't until he was 16 years old that Pedro discovered his true passion for acting. His best friend at the time challenged him to audition for an independent stage production of Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas" directed by Miguel Bulteau. This marked the beginning of Pedro's serious pursuit of acting.

Later that year, Pedro auditioned for another production, an original play written by Miguel Bulteau entitled "The Rivals", and landed a major role. The play's success and Pedro's positive reviews convinced him to drop out of high school and join an acting school.

He successfully auditioned for the "Cascais Professional Theatre School" and while attending, Pedro took part in two other productions directed by Miguel Bulteau outside of academic hours. The first was a sequel to "The Rivals", "The Rivals II: Grail of Mess", and the second was a Musical entitled "What if the World Ended Now?", where Pedro played one of the lead roles, Famine, one of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse who accidentally descend to Earth to end the world, only to realize it's the wrong day.

By the end of his course, Pedro was nominated for the Student of The Year Award. He then participated in a two-day audition process for the Lisbon Conservatory, where he was granted a spot at the school. After completing his acting degree from the Lisbon Conservatory, Pedro decided to spend one year working as an actor before continuing his studies in the United States.

After said year, Pedro completed his lifelong dream of moving to the United States when he got accepted to join the Two Year Conservatory Program at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, from which he graduated on December 2013. During his time in New York, Pedro took part in a production of the musical "The Music Man", where he played the demanding role of Oliver Hix, one of the members of the barbershop quartet.

At his final performance at the Strasberg Institute, Pedro worked on two different scenes. One from Orpheus Descending, and the other from North of Providence. Pedro currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
