Biography

Paula Jean, a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, was born in Seattle and raised in Portland, Oregon. In 1989, she relocated to Montreal, Quebec, where she initially pursued a career in the fashion industry before returning to school to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Performance from Concordia University.

With a diverse range of acting credits to her name, Paula Jean has appeared in various mediums, including film, television, voiceover, theatre, commercials, and video games. Her on-screen roles have spanned a broad spectrum, from tough-as-nails law enforcement officials in shows like Quantico, Rogue, Cyberbully, and Stealing Paradise, to ruthless lawyers in No Surrender and The Sisterhood, and even icy psychiatrists in The Fischer Case.

In addition to her acting work, Paula Jean has also had the opportunity to play more lighthearted characters, such as a trustworthy bartender in Barney's Version, a loving but dysfunctional mother in Being Human, The Phantom, and Gleason, and a kind church lady in Naked Josh.

Paula Jean's passion for storytelling has also led her to pursue a career in screenwriting. Alongside co-writing a pilot for a historical drama series titled Bellum, she wrote, produced, and co-starred in the award-winning action-comedy short film Are You My Mommy. This film premiered at the 2018 Dances With Films Festival in Hollywood and went on to have a successful festival run through 2021, earning several accolades, including Best Comedy at the Artemis Women In Action Film Festival, The People's Choice Award at the Vancouver Island Short Film Festival, and Best Actress in the Independent Shorts Awards.

Currently, Paula Jean is based in Los Angeles and is working on producing her first feature film script, Big Picture, a comedic drama that follows an artist-turned-house painter who is on the verge of burnout and must confront her emotional demons when she forms a relationship with a disabled podcaster.
