Paul's collegiate basketball journey took place at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville from 1992 to 1993, where he proudly donned the Cougars' jersey as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II basketball team. His affiliation with the university also extended to his involvement with the Xi Beta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Despite limited action during the 1992-93 season, Paul managed to rack up a respectable total of thirty-nine points for the Cougars, showcasing his skills on the court.
