Paul Sado, a native of New York City, initially gained recognition through his series of plays at Manhattan Theatre Source and various scripts for acclaimed director Abel Ferrara. Subsequently, he directed Away From Here and co-produced The Cobbler, a film directed by Tom McCarthy and starring Adam Sandler, Dustin Hoffman, Steve Buscemi, and Ellen Barkin.
He continued to collaborate with Sandler, writing and producing the Netflix releases Sandy Wexler, which starred Kevin James, Jennifer Hudson, and Lamorne Morris, as well as the Emmy-nominated special %100 FRESH and the record-breaking release The Do Over, featuring Kathryn Hahn.
In addition to his work as a writer and producer, Sado has also served as a consultant, rewriter, and script doctor for various projects. His credits include Win Win, a Fox Searchlight film starring Paul Giamatti, Bobby Cannavale, and Amy Ryan, as well as Too Cool To Be Forgotten for Lakeshore Entertainment.
Recently, Sado developed a live-action, CGI hybrid of Candy Land, a family comedy based on the beloved board game, produced by Sony and Hasbro. He also wrote and serves as Executive Producer on the animated musical feature film Leo, currently in production at Netflix with Bill Burr voicing Leo and directed by Robert Smigel.
