Paul Richter

Paul Richter, a renowned Austrian actor, took his first breath on April 1, 1895, in the imperial city of Vienna, then part of the vast and sprawling Austria-Hungary, a country that would eventually be divided into modern-day Austria and several other nations. Throughout his illustrious career, Richter left an indelible mark on the world of cinema, with notable performances in films such as Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler, a 1922 psychological thriller directed by Fritz Lang, The Ringer, a 1932 drama, and Die Nibelungen: Siegfried, a 1924 fantasy epic. In his personal life, Richter was twice married, first to Elisabeth Hölzl and then to the Norwegian actress Aud Egede-Nissen. Tragically, his life came to a close on December 30, 1961, in the same city where he was born, Vienna, Austria, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and entertain audiences to this day.
