Patty Shepard, a captivating brunette, was born in 1945 in Greenville, South Carolina, the daughter of a U.S. Air Force official. When she was only 18 years old, she made the bold decision to relocate to Spain, marking the beginning of her remarkable journey.
As a model, Patty gained widespread recognition through a series of television commercials, which ultimately paved the way for her entry into the world of acting. Her film debut, in a small yet significant role in La ciudad no es para mí (1966),or "The City is Not for Me," set the stage for her subsequent appearances in paella westerns, thrillers, and horror movies.
Patty's association with Spanish horror icon Paul Naschy is particularly noteworthy, as the two collaborated on numerous projects, including Assignment Terror (1970),The Werewolf Versus the Vampire Woman (1971),Crypt of the Living Dead (1973),The Witches Mountain (1973),and Special Killers (1973). Her striking features and otherworldly aura, reminiscent of the inimitable Barbara Steele, have left an indelible mark on the horror genre.
In addition to her work in horror, Patty appeared in the science fiction feature Creation of the Damned (1974),also known as "Refuge of Fear," as well as the spaghetti Western oddity The Stranger and the Gunfighter (1974),or "The Stranger and the Gunfighter." After a hiatus, Patty returned to the screen in the late 1980s, starring in the horror movies Rest in Pieces (1987) and Slugs (1988).
Tragically, Patty Shepard passed away on January 3, 2013, at the age of 67, due to a heart attack at her home in Madrid, Spain. Despite her untimely departure, her enduring legacy as a talented actress and horror icon continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
