Patrick Giraudi, a multifaceted individual with a passion for music and sound, was born in France, where he began his journey in the world of electronics at a young age. By the time he was 15, he had already become a professional drummer, performing live with his band and operating a recording studio.
As his interest in music and sound for movies grew, Patrick made the bold move to Los Angeles in 1987. He started working graveyard shifts in music recording studios in Hollywood, gradually making his way up to lead engineer. However, his fascination with sound effects and digital editing led him to pivot in 1991, and he began working as a sound editor and later a re-recording mixer for motion pictures at Digital Sound and Picture, a state-of-the-art audio post-production company.
In 1999, Patrick took the leap and started freelancing as a re-recording mixer, bringing his own gear to the mix stages since Protools wasn't widely used at that time. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of working on films directed by renowned directors such as David Lynch, Walter Salles, Robert Townsend, and Kevin Bacon, as well as major film networks including HBO, Showtime, Universal, and MGM.
Patrick's work has garnered numerous accolades, including MPSE awards for best sound and festival awards. In 2010, he expanded his skillset by bringing his post-sound knowledge to film sets, providing location recording services on films he was working on. This added a new dimension to his work, allowing him to ensure the highest quality sound for filmmakers.
In 2010, Patrick opened his own state-of-the-art digital facility, Virtualmix studios, located in Burbank, CA. With his talented team, he handles a wide range of tasks, including ADR and Foley recording, sound editing, sound design, and mixing. With his expertise and dedication, Patrick is well-equipped to tackle the ever-growing demand for pristine sound in the film industry.
