Pat Barrington was a renowned topless dancer, actress, and model who gained fame in the 1960s for her appearances in softcore sexploitation films.
Born Patricia Annette Bray on October 16, 1939, in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was the result of a teenage pregnancy and was raised by her mother Willie Jo in various locations, including Richmond, Virginia, and Hyattsville, Maryland.
Pat's early life was marked by instability, with her mother marrying multiple times and Pat eventually leaving home after her sophomore year in high school. She relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, where she met an Italian-American mobster named Bob, whom she married but soon left due to abuse.
Barrington then began her career as an exotic dancer, using the name "Vivian Storm" in Washington, D.C. She caught the eye of jazz musician Melvin Rees, with whom she moved to Hyattsville, Maryland, but he was later convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
In 1962, Barrington moved to Los Angeles, California, where she worked as a dancer at The Classic Cat nightclub and began a modeling career, posing for men's magazines and commercial layouts. She also appeared in several films, including Orgy of the Dead (1965) and Agony of Love (1966).
Throughout the 1960s, Barrington became known for her performances in low-budget sexploitation films, often working with producer Harry H. Novak and director William Rotsler. She also appeared in mondo films, such as Hedonistic Pleasures (1969) and Mondo Topless (1966).
After retiring from acting, Barrington moved to New Jersey, where she worked as a stripper and eventually settled down with a singer named Romeo. She later moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she worked as a stripper using the name "Yvette" before retiring in the early 1990s.
In her later years, Barrington worked as a telemarketer and helped local animal rescue groups, a passion she had maintained throughout her life. She passed away on September 1, 2014, at the age of 74, due to lung cancer.
