Pamela K. Long is a multi-award-winning writer, Executive Producer, and former beauty pageant titleholder. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, but raised in Huntsville, Alabama, Pamela's journey in the entertainment industry began as an actress on the NBC soap opera "Texas," where she portrayed the character of Ashley Linden.
NBC soon recognized Pamela's exceptional writing talent and, in a rare move, offered her the position of Headwriter, making her the youngest Headwriter in Daytime television history. Pamela's remarkable achievement was even more impressive given that she was working with the oldest show in network history, "Guiding Light," for CBS. During her tenure, she created iconic and enduring characters, such as the Lewis family and the legendary Reva Shayne, played by five-time Emmy Award winner Kim Zimmer. Under Pamela's guidance, "Guiding Light" reached the number one spot in the ratings during the heyday of 40-share Daytime dominance.
Pamela's impressive writing skills soon earned her recognition in Prime Time Network television, and she went on to produce and write the highly acclaimed "Christy" for CBS. Her work on "The Hunt" with star Tyne Daly won the Templeton Prize, and she received her second Emmy Award for the same script.
Pamela collaborated with Brandon Tartikoff to create the Prime Time show "Second Noah," which aired on ABC for two seasons and was a huge success. As the Creator and sole Executive Producer, Pamela showcased her exceptional talent.
Pamela continued to make a mark in television by Executive Producing and writing MTV's hit scripted drama "Undressed" and serving as the lead consultant on all MTV's scripted shows. She also wrote and Executive Produced the action film "The Last Patrol" for Artisan and the television movie "Her Hidden Truth" for NBC.
In addition to her impressive work in television, Pamela wrote and Executive Produced "Twice In a Lifetime" for the Pax Network. Most recently, Pamela returned to television with the smash hit "Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors" for NBC, serving as writer and Executive Producer.
