Ozzy Villazon's journey in the world of film began at a remarkably young age, as a child actor in films and commercials, with one of his earliest credits being in the Sundance Grand Jury Winning film STREET MUSIC.
As he grew older, Ozzy's passion for directing only intensified, leading him to pursue a degree in the prestigious M.F.A Directing Program at the American Film Institute. During his time at AFI, Ozzy received top honors and was awarded the Richard P. Rogers Spirit of Excellence in Directing Award for his AFI Thesis film, SILENCIO FUERTE, which was praised for its bold vision and searing authenticity.
After completing his studies, Ozzy began to make a name for himself in the industry, directing the film GET THE LIFE, which premiered at the 60th BFI London Film Festival and went on to screen at various festivals worldwide, including Raindance, Outfest, and Frameline Film Festival.
Ozzy's experience and talent did not go unnoticed, as he was selected as a Directing Fellow at Film Independent Project Involve, where he had the opportunity to work under the mentorship of Oscar-nominated writer/director Dan Gilroy, known for his work on NIGHTCRAWLER.
Currently, Ozzy is working on his feature debut, a political thriller set to be shot in Bolivia. Through his work, Ozzy aims to bring important stories to life and make a lasting impact on the film industry.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ozzy is also a cancer survivor, a testament to his strength and resilience in the face of adversity.
