Born on April 27, 1964, in Ankara, this individual embarked on a professional journey that would span decades. His academic pursuits led him to graduate from Ankara University's Faculty of Communication.
As a young professional, he began his career at TRT between 1987 and 1990, serving as an assistant cameraman. This experience laid the foundation for his future endeavors, as he went on to work as a cameraman from 1990 to 1995. The next chapter in his career saw him take on the roles of Director of Photography (DOP) and Director, a position he has held since 1995.
Throughout his illustrious career, he has directed numerous commercials, music videos, TV shows, documentaries, and feature films. In 1998, he co-founded Böcek Yapim, a production company that has served as the platform for many of his creative endeavors.
One of his most notable directorial debut films is Vizontele (2001),a collaborative effort with Yilmaz Erdogan. This film marked a new era in Turkish cinema, as it became the first film to surpass 3 million local admissions. His subsequent film, G.O.R.A. (2004),broke another record, becoming the first film to surpass 4 million local admissions.
In 2006, he released Exam, a youth comedy that criticized the educational system and featured the talents of Jean-Claude Van Damme. His fourth feature film, Yahsi Bati - The Ottoman Cowboys (2009),was a pioneering effort in the genre of Turkish Western Comedy.
His latest film, Love Likes Coincidences (2011),a romantic drama, has garnered significant attention both nationally and internationally, attracting over 2.5 million admissions. Throughout his career, he has consistently pushed the boundaries of Turkish cinema, leaving a lasting impact on the industry.
