Oliver Broumis was born in Hannover, Germany, where he spent his formative years.
Immediately after completing his education, he enrolled in the Hamburg University of Music and Dramatic Arts for a four-year program in acting. Following his formal education, he underwent extensive training in Los Angeles with M. K. Lewis (Film Tech),Sam Christensen (S. Chr. Process),and Frank Betzelt, Berlin (Meisner Technique).
He began his professional career with the German/Swiss film "Immer & Ewig"/"Always & Forever", a modern adaptation of the Jean Paul Sartre play "The game is over". Concurrently, he started performing in theaters across Germany, taking on roles in plays by Shakespeare, Goethe, and other renowned playwrights.
Through his roles in war movies "Stalingrad" and "Hasenjagd"/"The quality of mercy", he discovered his affinity and aptitude for portraying emotionally disturbed and volatile characters.
In 2002, his interest in film politics led him to co-found the "film.lounge.berlin", a meeting and networking hub for the Berlin film industry.
In 2004, he portrayed the German zoologist and wildlife activist "Bernhard Grzimek", who was instrumental in the conservation of natural world heritage, such as the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park. As a boy of four years, he grew up watching Bernhard Grzimek's monthly TV show and was inspired to become a fighting man - a dream that came true three decades later.
Also in 2004, he produced the documentary "Zwischen Kopf and Himmel" by a young first-time director, which explores the lives of women in East Africa.
Currently, he is working with a German director on the script of "Rigby", a film that delves into the themes of death and the process of dying. The story examines the question of whether one can live in the presence of their own mortality and transience, and what benefits this may bring to one's life. For research purposes, he spent a few weeks at a local hospice and will also play the main role in the film.
In addition to his work on "Rigby", he is developing two documentaries and has completed the "Raindance Berlin Documentary Foundation Course" (Raindance Film Festival) in 2013 to expand his skills as a filmmaker.
From 2013 to 2015, he served as a coach and director for prison theater in the women's prison Berlin - Pankow, working on projects "Home" and "Identity".
In February 2021, he participated in the Initiative #Actout with 184 other LGBTQIA+ actors, launched by the renowned German SZ-Magazin.
In his personal life, he is an avid traveler, exploring the world.
