Nydia Caro's life story begins in the vibrant city of New York, where she was born to proud Puerto Rican parents. Her early years were marked by a fascination with the performing arts, which ultimately led her to attend the prestigious High School of The Performing Arts.
After completing her studies, Nydia embarked on a series of brief stints in her hometown of New York, during which time she honed her craft and gained valuable experience. However, it wasn't long before she decided to return to her roots in Puerto Rico, where she quickly established herself as a household name on local television.
Her music career took off in the early 1970s, when she released her debut album. This marked the beginning of a long and successful journey, during which she would go on to win numerous awards and accolades. One of her most notable achievements was winning the OTI Hispanic American Song Festival in 1976, a victory that catapulted her to international fame.
In addition to her music, Nydia has also made a name for herself in the world of film. She has appeared in a number of productions made in Puerto Rico, including the critically acclaimed drama "Under Suspicion" (2000),which starred Gene Hackman and Morgan Freeman.
