Biography

Nicoletta Elmi, a captivating and talented redheaded child actress, effortlessly charmed audiences with her otherworldly and captivating presence in a select few Italian horror films during the early to mid-1970s.

Born on February 13, 1964, in Rome, Italy, Elmi began her acting career at a remarkably young age, modeling and appearing in television commercials as early as four years old. Her first film appearance was in the movie "The Sisters". Interestingly, her favorite aunt was the renowned television presenter Maria Giovanna Elmi.

Initially, Elmi's cinematic endeavors focused on comedies, but she made her first foray into the horror genre at the tender age of six. One of her most notable performances was as George Lazenby's innocent and endearing daughter, who tragically meets a brutal demise in the gripping giallo "Who Saw Her Die?". Elmi frequently portrayed mischievous and unpleasant young characters in influential Italian fright features such as Mario Bava's pioneering proto-slasher film "Bay of Blood", "Flesh for Frankenstein", "The Cursed Medallion", and Dario Argento's masterpiece "Deep Red".

As Elmi grew up, she transformed into a stunningly beautiful young woman. Her memorable performance as a movie theater usherette in Lamberto Bava's outrageously gory film "Demons" is still widely regarded as one of her most iconic roles. In addition to her film credits, Elmi also appeared in numerous television commercials and made guest appearances in several television shows.

Regrettably, Nicoletta Elmi chose to retire from acting in the late 1980s to pursue a career in medicine.
