Nicole Stoffman is a renowned Canadian actress and jazz singer, born on March 16, 1972, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. As a native Torontonian, she began learning French at the age of seven in Aix-En-Provence, France. Her early start in the entertainment industry included a Gemini award nomination for her portrayal of Stephanie Kaye in the iconic CBC TV series, Degrassi Junior High, in 1987.
Throughout her career, Nicole has accumulated an impressive list of acting credits, including the leading role in the TV sitcom "Learning the Ropes" opposite Lyle Alzado and Yannick Bisson, and the feature film "Anchor Zone" alongside Mark Critch and Henry Czerny.
In 2002, Nicole became the featured vocalist for Jeff Healey's Jazz Wizards, an old-time "hot" jazz ensemble performing repertoire from the 1920s and 1930s. She embarked on an inaugural cross-Canada tour, performing at the Montreal and Ottawa Jazz Festivals, as well as numerous other festivals and concerts across the country.
From 2002 to 2006, Nicole served as the Artistic Director, vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and band leader of her French Cafe jazz band, "Nicole Stoffman's Jazz Boheme". The band's personnel included Roberto Rosenman, Drew Jurecka, and Chris Bartos, and they appeared on CBC's Vinyl Cafe, Radio-Canada's "Les Arts et Les Autres", and at Yonge Dundas Square's lunchtime concert series.
Nicole's education includes studying vocal technique with Caroline Leslie, a Royal Conservatory of Music alumnus and vocal coach to the a cappella singing sensations, "The Nylons". She also studied guitar with Steve Briggs of "The Behop Cowboys", a Toronto-based western swing band awarded the 2002 Livin' Blues Gold Award for Blues Excellence.
Nicole graduated with distinction from York University in December 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies and, in 2014, graduated with high distinction from the University of Toronto with a degree in political science, history, and French studies.
In 2011, Nicole was selected as one of 36 candidates to participate in the Parliamentary Guide Program in Ottawa, where she gave 200 tours of Canada's Parliament to 5,000 visitors from across the country and around the world in both official languages. Currently, Nicole is enrolled in a professional certificate program studying fundraising management at Humber College.
