Biography

Nicole Gabriella Scipione, born as the middle child of five siblings to a minister father, George Charles Scipione, and an educator/counselor mother, Eileen Cheryl Scipione, grew up on a manse in New Jersey, where she was surrounded by ministerial families. Her father's call to Southern California led the family to relocate, and Nicole's early life was marked by the introduction of theatre in her elementary school days, where she starred in her first play, Sleeping Beauty.

As a teenager, Nicole landed her first significant role as Cinderella in Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, directed by Sydney Forest. She went on to pursue her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she created a one-woman show inspired by Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar. After graduating, Nicole moved to Los Angeles and began her career in TV and film, appearing in projects such as McBride: Dogged, Violet, and Shark Swarm.

Nicole's regional theatre credits include memorable roles in Ayad Akhtar's Pulitzer Prize-winning Disgraced at PlayMakers Repertory Company, Jenny in The Tony Award-nominated The Christians at Actors Co-op, Ruth Bader GetsIt in For The Love Of at The Kirk Douglas Theatre, Abigail in The Crucible at The Pasadena Playhouse, and with comedic luminaries Culture Clash in AmeriCCa at South Coast Repertory.

In addition to her acting career, Nicole is also a screenwriter, playwright, producer, and poet. Her short film, Song in a Convenience Store, won 3rd place Short Narrative at the Academy Award-qualifying Athens International Film Festival and has been optioned and adapted into a screenplay. Nicole has also been involved in various creative pursuits, including playing the guitar, dancing, and writing poetry.

In her free time, Nicole treasures moments with family and friends, speaks in various dialects, dances in unexpected places, and enjoys the scents of honeysuckle and jasmine. Her passions extend to working towards a more just and loving world.
