Nick Sakai, a multi-talented individual, holds a degree in Theatre Arts from The State University of New York at Buffalo, where he later transferred to CUNY Hunter.
In his senior year, he had the unique opportunity to audition for his first off-Broadway show, Stonewall, directed by Tina Landau and produced by En Garde Arts.
During the run, the casting director for All My Children called Nick for his first audition, which marked the beginning of his television career.
Nick went on to work in prime-time/daytime television, independent films, commercials, voice-overs, and theatre, accumulating a diverse range of credits including High Maintenance, Orange is the New Black, The Affair, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Third Watch, and many more.
His foray into production began after meeting award-winning filmmaker Anya Meksin, with whom he collaborated on her short film Couch and later on her feature film The Professor, an action thriller inspired by Occupy Wall Street.
As Associate Producer on The Professor, Nick worked alongside Betsy Brandt (Breaking Bad) and Rick Peters (Dexter),and the film won the CINE Golden Eagle Award and Best Action/Adventure Film at Comic-con in 2014, before being released on the festival circuit.
Nick's most recent producing credit includes Bluebirds, starring James Chen (The Walking Dead, FBI, Law & Order:SVU, and Iron Fist) and Ayesha Adamo (Dance Till Dawn and We Are The Prototypes).
Additional producing credits include Going Home, a short film exploring the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder on former soldiers, "12", a parody short of "24", and the upcoming "Ms. Kiss", a project he acted in, produced, and directed.
Nick is represented by ATB Talent, a bi-coastal agency based in Los Angeles and New York City.
