Neil moved to Toronto to attend York University, where he earned a degree in psychology and furthered his studies in theatre and film acting. His academic pursuits led him to explore various aspects of filmmaking, and he soon found himself working on film and television productions, including notable projects such as Honey starring Jessica Alba and My Baby's Daddy starring Michael Imperioli from The Sopranos.
As he gained experience on larger movie sets, Neil discovered that securing bit parts wasn't as fulfilling as the experience he received as a lead on smaller, independent productions. It was during this time that he began to explore and learn about the various aspects of filmmaking, which ultimately led him to write his first screenplay, Highway.
Highway was produced by Kevin Lane of Limestyle Productions, and Neil not only starred in the production but also made his directorial debut. Since then, he has continued to work on various projects, including a commercial for the Royal Bank of Canada and Lilly Dale, the television series The Smart Women Survival Guide, which aired on the "W" network.
Neil has also appeared in episodes of Showcase's original web series Hotsnack Radio and as the leading man in Canadian R&B artist Melanie Durant's music video "Feel the Same", which will be aired on Much Music and MTV. In addition to his acting career, Neil is also a member of the hip-hop group Hit N' Run, which has performed alongside notable artists such as G-Unit, Obi Trice, Naughty by Nature, Shawn Desmond, and Swollen Members. The group recently completed their debut music video Hush.
