Biography

Natalia Marisa Oreiro Iglesias is a renowned Uruguayan actress, born on May 19, 1977, in Montevideo. She began her journey in the world of theatre at the tender age of eight. With a career spanning multiple decades, Natalia has effortlessly transitioned between the stage, cameras, premieres, recording studios, and presentations, solidifying her status as a global phenomenon.

At the age of 12, Natalia made her debut in the commercial world by presenting herself for auditions that required child actors. This marked the beginning of her career, during which she recorded 37 commercials for prominent brands such as O.B., Coca-Cola, and Knorr. At 14, she was handpicked from a pool of 10,000 competitors to accompany Xuxa on her tour in America and represent her in various programs.

Natalia's breakthrough came when she was 17 and relocated to Argentina alone. She landed a small role in the television series "Unconquerable Heart" (1994) and later renounced her part as an ambassadress to Xuxa to become a host on MTV Latino. In 1995, she played the protagonist's niece in the telenovela "Sweet Anne" (1995),followed by appearances in "Top Models" (1996) and "Ricos y famosos" (1997).

In 1996, Natalia participated in the theatre play "Las mariposas son libres" and co-hosted the gala of Premios Martín Fierro (1998) alongside Fernando Bravo. She also appeared in the movie "An Argentinian in New York" (1998),which became a massive success, attracting an audience of 1,634,702 spectators.

In 1998, Natalia launched her first record worldwide, titled "Natalia Oreiro," and performed the song "Cambio dolor," which opened the television series "Muñeca brava" (1998). Her songs, including "Me muero de amor," resonated globally. On January 27, 2000, she received the Celebrity of the Year prize from E! Entertainment Television Network in the television category for her outstanding career and for being the celebrity revelation of 1999.

Natalia's musical career saw her collaborate with Raffaella Carrà in Italy, participate in Gala de la Hispanidad, and perform at Festival de la Calle 8 in Miami and Gala de Murcia in Spain. In 2000, she traveled to Los Angeles to record her second album, "Tu veneno" ("Your Poison"),a pop-rock style with an Andalusian touch, which earned her a Latin Grammy Award nomination.

The following years were marked by extensive tours, including countries like Romania, Philippines, Hungary, Greece, Poland, Czech Republic, Israel, Slovakia, Slovenia, Russia, Belarus, and others. In February 2001, Natalia was elected the Queen of the Viña del Mar Festival 2000, captivating the Chilean public with her singing and beauty.

In 2002, Natalia continued her tour in Russia and Belarus and started recording her new album, "Turmalina" ("Tourmaline"),which was released in June 2002. She also began filming "Kachorra" (2002),which concluded in December 2002 and was broadcast in many countries across Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe.

Natalia's subsequent projects included the telenovela "Sos mi vida" (2006),where she played a boxer, and the title character in "Amanda O" (2008). She then focused on her cinematographic career, starring in four films: "Música en espera" (2009),"Francia" (2009),"Miss Tacuarembó" (2010),and "My First Wedding" (2011).

In 2012, Natalia released the movie "Clandestine Childhood" (2011) and the series "Lynch" (2012),solidifying her status as a talented and versatile actress.
