Biography

Nancy Larson was born in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, but her formative years were spent in the charming town of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. At the tender age of eighteen, she made the bold decision to return to her birthplace in Los Angeles, where she embarked on a journey of self-discovery by working in a clothing factory during the day and sneaking into film classes at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) by night.

It was during this period that she penned her first screenplay, "Parzival," which would go on to secure a deal with renowned actor James Coburn at the tender age of twenty. The story behind the sale of her script is a fascinating one, as a friend stumbled upon Coburn's address on a movie star map and, in a bold move, tossed the script over the fence.

Following the success of "Parzival," Larson went on to work with various studios and producers, solidifying her reputation as a talented and dedicated screenwriter. Her impressive resume includes a Fellowship at The Sundance Institute, as well as collaborations with esteemed directors such as Shaker Kapur, Wolfgang Peterson, and Louis Malle.

In addition to her work in the film industry, Larson has also made a significant impact in the world of theater. She played a pivotal role in the development and executive production of "Zorro The Musical," which received a staggering five Olivier nominations, including Best Musical, for its London West End run in 2009.

Larson's screenplay, "The Question of Hu," has received pre-production funding from European Film Funds, and she is currently developing several other screenplays for Dancing Camel Films, a production company based in Munich, Germany, which she co-owns with Christine Ruppert.

Throughout her illustrious career, Larson has been based in Seattle, Washington, where she has spent the past twenty years cultivating her craft and building a reputation as a highly respected and accomplished screenwriter.
