Biography

Nadia Kujnir-Herescu, born on November 23, 1923, in Bucharest, Romania, to a Russian father and a Bessarabian mother, was destined for a life of glamour and stardom. Raised in her birthplace, Nadia's early life was marked by a chance encounter with her first husband, Constantin Cantacuzino, a Romanian aviator and World War II fighter ace, while she was a passenger on one of his commercial flights. The couple fled Romania during the Communist takeover in the late 1940s and settled in Paris, where Nadia's international career as a stage and screen actress flourished.
