Notwithstanding the fact that his time at the conservatory was relatively brief, this individual had already achieved significant success as a renowned composer, collaborating with lyricist and later producer Arthur Freed to pen songs for MGM's musical and non-musical films. Some of his most notable works include the iconic title tracks for "The Broadway Melody", "Broadway Melody of 1936", and "Going Hollywood", as well as the timeless classic "Singin' in the Rain", which has become synonymous with the 1952 movie starring Gene Kelly. Additionally, he worked alongside Richard A. Whiting and Buddy G. DeSylva on the Broadway musical "Take a Chance".
