Biography

A renowned radio personality, born in the vibrant city of Chicago, embarked on a remarkable career in 1931, initially gracing the airwaves with his presence on "The General Tire Show". As his talent and reputation grew, he secured regular roles on iconic soap operas, such as "Guiding Light" and "Today's Children", leaving an indelible mark on the medium. His most notable achievement, however, was creating the inimitable voice of Willie Fitzon on the beloved radio show "Ma Perkins", a program that enjoyed a remarkable 30-year run. Following his success in radio, he ventured into the world of literature, penning the gripping thriller "Hollow Triumph", a tale of an ex-convict who kills a psychiatrist and assumes the dead man's identity, only to become famous in the process. The film adaptation, retitled "The Scar", boasted a star-studded cast, featuring Paul Henreid and Joan Bennett in leading roles. Tragically, his life was cut short when he succumbed to cancer on January 27, 1987, just one day after being admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
