Biography

Munsur, a talented individual, was born in Bangladesh and relocated to the United Kingdom at the tender age of two. He spent his formative years in East London, where he witnessed firsthand the profound social, economic, and political transformations that shaped the community.

Munsur's educational background is marked by his attendance at a Church of England school, where he excelled academically. Outside of regular school hours, he dedicated himself to studying Arabic and Bangla, honing his linguistic skills and broadening his cultural understanding.

Upon completing his secondary education, Munsur went on to graduate with honors in 'B.A. Film and Broadcast Production.' He subsequently established his own film production company in 2003, which has since collaborated with renowned professionals from the US, UK, and Bollywood industries.

Throughout his illustrious career, Munsur has produced a diverse array of documentaries and short films that tackle pressing social issues, including policing, knife crime, and gang violence. His dedication to shedding light on these critical topics has earned him recognition and respect within the film community.

In addition to his impressive body of work, Munsur is the Founder and CEO of Limelight Film Awards, an initiative designed to identify and celebrate emerging film talent. This esteemed event has become one of the largest independent short film awards ceremonies in the UK, attracting over 500 filmmakers, media personalities, and celebrities to London each year.

The Limelight Film Awards boasts an impressive 12 film categories, as well as a £10,000 production award, making it a highly coveted platform for emerging British filmmakers. The event has garnered recognition from national and international organizations, as well as educational institutions, cementing its status as a leading force in the industry.

Munsur's achievements have not gone unnoticed, as he was invited to meet His Royal Highness Prince of Wales in 2012, in recognition of his success as a local social entrepreneur. He has also had the honor of officially opening the media suite at Tower Hamlets College.

In 2014, Munsur made his debut as a writer, director, and producer with the international feature film Shongram. This critically acclaimed production boasts an international cast and crew, including the acclaimed writer/script editor Billy Mackinnon, who has worked on notable projects such as Piano and Hideous Kinky, starring Kate Winslet.
