Monica Bedi was born on January 18, 1975, in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India, and her family relocated to Norway in 1976, where she spent the next 15 years of her life before returning to India in 1991. She pursued her education in 1992 by enrolling in English Literature at Oxford University.
Monica's acting career began with the Telugu film Taj Mahal in 1995, which was a commercial success. She then made her Bollywood debut opposite Saif Ali Khan in Surakshaa and went on to work with renowned actors like Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan, and Dharmendra. Some of her notable films include the comedy hit Jodi No.1.
In addition to her film career, Monica gained fame through her appearances on reality TV shows like Bigg Boss 2, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3, and Desi Girl. She also released a spiritual music album with Universal Music.
In 2012, Monica entered the Punjabi film industry with Sirphire and later starred in Romeo Ranjha. She received critical acclaim for her performance as Ghuman in Saraswatichandra, a Sanjay Leela Bhansali production that aired on Star Plus from 2013 to 2014.
Despite facing personal challenges, Monica rebounded with determination and perseverance. In 2019, the High Court upheld her acquittal in the passport case, and no legal proceedings remain against her. She was granted a passport and has since continued to lead a positive life.
