Biography

Moe Howard, affectionately known as the "Boss Stooge", was the eldest sibling of the renowned comedic trio, The Three Stooges, and the brother of the equally iconic Curly Howard and Shemp Howard. His journey in the world of entertainment began in 1909, when he started landing small roles in silent films produced by Vitagraph.

As a teenager, Moe joined a troupe of performers working on a showboat, where he honed his comedic skills and appeared in a series of two-reel comedy shorts. This early exposure to the entertainment industry laid the foundation for his future success.

In 1922, Moe, along with his brother Shemp and fellow performer Larry Fine, joined forces with roughhouse vaudeville comedian Ted Healy to form the act that would eventually become The Three Stooges. The trio toured vaudeville circuits and appeared in numerous films alongside Healy for a decade before deciding to pursue a separate career path.

Throughout his illustrious 66-year career, Moe appeared in over 250 films, including a staggering 190 Three Stooges shorts. The act's 50-year history was marked by several personnel changes, with Moe being the constant driving force behind the group's success.

Tragically, when Moe passed away, the act came to an end, marking the conclusion of an era in comedy and entertainment.
