Mitzi Akaha is a bilingual actor based in New York, proficient in both English and Japanese, who began her acting career on an educational sketch show broadcast by NHK.

As a rising star in the industry, Mitzi received recognition from the Maryland Film Festival in 2024, following her outstanding performance in the Hawaii-made film Chaperone, which premiered at Slamdance 2024 and won the Grand Jury Breakout Feature award.

In addition to her work in Chaperone, Mitzi also stars alongside notable actors such as Ellen Adair, Jeremy Holm, Dana Snyder, Tim V Murphy, and Corbin Bernsen in the elevated zombie love story Herd, which was praised as one of the best genre films of the year by Yahoo Movies and Fangoria.
