Misty Anne Upham, a talented individual born in Kallispell, Montana, spent her formative years in south Seattle, where she was raised alongside her four siblings. Her journey in the entertainment industry began at the tender age of thirteen when she joined the community theater group, Red Eagle Soaring. What initially started as a summer workshop soon transformed into a full-time occupation. By the time she turned fourteen, Misty was not only writing and directing short skits but also embarking on tours throughout the northwest, showcasing her impressive skills to a wider audience.
As she continued to hone her craft, Misty was accepted into several esteemed Seattle theater companies, all while maintaining her academic pursuits in high school. Her breakthrough moment arrived in 2001 when she landed the pivotal role of Mrs. Blue Cloud in Chris Eyre's sophomore project, Skins (2002). In this critically acclaimed production, Misty portrayed a victim of domestic abuse on the Pine Ridge reservation, garnering widespread recognition for her powerful performance.
Misty's impressive résumé also includes a significant role in the family drama August: Osage County (2013),where she played the character of Johnna Monevata, a live-in housekeeper. Tragically, Misty's life was cut short in 2014 when she passed away in Auburn, Washington, as a result of blunt-force trauma.
