Biography

Minoru Tanaka is a renowned Japanese professional wrestler, whose illustrious career has spanned multiple promotions. Initially, he gained recognition in Fujiwara Gumi and Battlarts, before transitioning to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW),where he achieved considerable success, winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship four times, the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship five times, and the 2006 Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

Following his departure from NJPW, Tanaka joined All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW),where he continued to excel in the junior heavyweight and tag team divisions, claiming the World Junior Heavyweight Championship once and the All Asia Tag Team Championship twice. From 2013 to 2016, he worked for Wrestle-1, further solidifying his reputation as a skilled wrestler.

Currently, Tanaka operates as a freelancer, competing primarily in Pro Wrestling Noah (Noah),where he has held the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship twice. He is also a former GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion, making him the second wrestler, after Naomichi Marufuji, to hold all three major Japanese junior heavyweight singles titles. Moreover, Tanaka holds the distinction of being the only wrestler to have won all five major junior heavyweight titles in Japan, including the aforementioned tag team prizes.
