Biography

Mikhail Boyarskiy is a multifaceted artist with a remarkable career spanning across various mediums, including theater, film, music, and television. Born with a passion for the arts, he began his journey by studying piano at the music school of the Conservatory.

Following his formal education, Boyarskiy enrolled in the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography, where he honed his craft under the guidance of renowned instructors. Upon graduating in 1972, he was scouted by the director of the Lensovet Theater, Igor Vladimirov, and was subsequently accepted into the troupe.

Boyarskiy's theatrical career took off with his role as a student in the play "Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoevsky. He soon made his film debut in the movies "Mosti" (1974) and "A Golden-coloured Straw Hat" (1974),but it was his portrayal of Silva in the film "Starshiy syn" (1976) that catapulted him to fame.

One of his most notable roles was Teodoro in Yan Frid's musical film "The Dog in the Manger" (1978),which showcased his impressive vocal range. However, it was his starring role as d'Artagnan in Georgi Yungvald-Khilkevich's film "D'artagnan and Three Musketeers" (1979) that cemented his status as a leading man.

Thanks to the massive success of "D'artagnan and Three Musketeers," Boyarskiy's fame reached unprecedented heights, and he went on to reprise his role in subsequent sequels. He also appeared in a series of historical films directed by Svetlana Druzhinina, including "Midshipmen, Onwards!" (1988) and "Vivat, gardemariny!" (1991).

Apart from his impressive vocal abilities, Boyarskiy is recognized for his unique performance style and distinctive voice timbre. Throughout his illustrious career, he has recorded over 600 songs, including musical numbers from films and plays, as well as songs for radio, television shows, vinyl records, and solo CDs.

In addition to his artistic accomplishments, Boyarskiy has also made a name for himself as a television presenter. Following the passing of Yuriy Nikulin in 1997, he joined the hosting team of the popular TV show "White Parrot."
