Mike Nyman, also known as Michael Robert Nyman or Michael Nyman, has been actively involved in the acting industry since the age of twenty-two.
Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Mike is a multifaceted individual with a deep understanding of various aspects of acting, including film, television, theatre, improv, background work, producing, directing, and casting.
Throughout his career, Mike has played a wide range of roles, from handsome leading men to extreme character actors, showcasing his impressive range and versatility as an actor.
Mike has received training from renowned acting coaches and mentors, including the late Cliff Osmond, Jeff Conaway, Doug Warhit, Gregory Berger-Sobeck, and Jack Stehlin.
Prior to pursuing a solo career, Mike performed with The Zeitgeist Theatre Company for five years and later co-founded The First Stage Alert Theatre Company with fellow actor Lonnie Schuyler.
One of Mike's most notable projects is the 35mm feature film "Bottom Feeders" (1997),which he co-produced with Lonnie, who also wrote and directed the film. The film featured many of the actors from First Stage Alert.
Mike has also had the opportunity to work on several notable projects, including the Johnny Depp film "Blow," although his scenes ultimately ended up on the cutting room floor.
In recent years, Mike has been more active in the acting scene due to the pandemic and the widespread use of self-tape auditions. He has become a favorite among several commercial casting directors and has appeared in various commercials, including those for Massage Envy, Liquid Death/Me Undies, and Consumer Cellular.
Currently, Mike has three films in the festival circuit: "Bare Knuckle Girl," in which he plays an a**hole trucker involved in a big parking lot brawl; "St. George," where he portrays Hank, a local sheriff on the trail of bank robbers; and "Do Right Man," in which he plays an old man who is a pool shark at a local bar.
Additionally, Mike has appeared in the Netflix sketch comedy series "I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson" in a game show as Metaloid Maniac, alongside Sam Richardson, and as an FBI Agent in the docudrama series "Meltdown: Three Mile Island."
