Mike Mangini, a renowned drummer, was born on April 18, 1963, in Newton, Massachusetts, USA. He is most famously recognized as the former drummer for the esteemed progressive metal band Dream Theater. Following the departure of Mike Portnoy in 2010, Mangini underwent a rigorous auditioning process, alongside several other accomplished drummers, to secure the coveted role as the band's new drummer. He successfully joined the band shortly thereafter.
Prior to his tenure with Dream Theater, Mangini had made notable appearances on three solo albums by the band's lead vocalist, James LaBrie.
