Mike Burke was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and spent his childhood in the small farming town of North Branford, just outside of New Haven. His father, a Vietnam veteran, was a police officer, and his mother worked as an office shipping clerk for automobile parts. Mike is the oldest of two brothers and a sister.
At the tender age of twelve, Mike discovered his remarkable talent for doing celebrity impersonations. Those around him were amazed by his ability to manipulate his voice in remarkable ways. This early discovery led him to jump into stand-up comedy at the age of thirteen.
Mike's big break came in early 1992, when he was just sixteen years old. Along with a small group of friends, he created a new talk/variety television show called "Comedy After Dark starring Mike Burke." The show gave Mike a platform to do what he loved - performing and making others laugh. He served as producer, writer, and talk show host.
The show originally aired on the town's public access station for a short time before Mike and his cast moved it to cable, where it became a huge hit throughout parts of Connecticut. Mike and his cast had become local stars, and the show, which featured political satire, sketch comedy, and improvisation, went on to become the cable station's most-watched show in its history.
Mike ended the show on its 100th episode, the week he graduated from North Branford High School in 1994. After leaving television, Mike moved on to writing, producing, directing, and starring in a series of independent feature films. He is now moving into bigger Hollywood productions and spending more time as an actor.
Today, Mike has become a huge creative force in entertainment, and many who have seen his work say he is on his way to becoming a future star.
