Mike Kochansky is a multifaceted creative professional, residing in Los Angeles, California, with a passion for writing, directing, and editing.
Born Michael Philip Kochansky on June 2, 1986, in York, Pennsylvania, to Michael Thomas Kochansky and the late Nancy Lynn Kochansky, he is the proud sibling of three half-sisters and one half-brother.
Kochansky's formative years were spent in Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, where he attended Oxford Area High School and graduated in 2004. He then pursued higher education at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, enrolling in the Department of Electronic Media within the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
During his academic tenure, Kochansky honed his skills in digital video production for traditional broadcast and cable television, as well as distribution formats. He also concurrently took Psychology courses, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media.
After college, Kochansky made the bold move to Los Angeles, California, in 2008 to chase his filmmaking dreams. Initially, he worked at a small entertainment company, managing a production team while directing, shooting, editing, and producing various web series, promo videos, commercials, and brand-oriented content.
As he gained industry experience, Kochansky began to focus more on his personal projects, while also working as a filmmaker for hire. Since 2010, he has written, directed, and edited numerous short films and music videos.
Notable among his works is the music video for This or the Apocalypse: Subverse (2011),released via AOL Music/Noisecreep. His short film, Mr. Tricker's Treat (2011),has garnered critical acclaim, screening in New York, Los Angeles, and the United Kingdom.
In 2015, Mr. Tricker's Treat (2011) was featured in the horror anthology film All Hallows' Eve 2 (2015),released on VOD on October 6th, 2015, and DVD on February 2nd, 2016.
