Biography

Miho Nakayama, a renowned Japanese singer, actress, and entrepreneur, was born in Saku, Japan. Her remarkable journey in the entertainment industry began on June 21, 1985, when she was scouted by Box Corporation while still in junior high school. However, she soon switched to Big Apple, marking the start of her illustrious career.

Nakayama's debut album, titled C, was released shortly after her debut, followed by her appearance in the iconic Be-Bop High School film. Her younger sister, Shinobu, also followed in her footsteps, becoming a singer and actress in her own right.

As Nakayama's popularity soared, she became a household name in Japan, with her likeness even featured in a dating game. She further solidified her status as a global superstar by recording music in the United States, becoming one of the best-selling J-pop artists of all time.

In addition to her music, Nakayama ventured into film, starring in the 1995 box-office hit Love Letter, for which she received numerous accolades, including the Best Actress award at the 38th Blue Ribbon Awards.

Nakayama's extensive corporate endorsement portfolio includes prominent brands such as baseball teams, TDK cassettes, and Kirin beer. She also married singer Hitonari Tsuji in 2002 and relocated to Paris, only to divorce in 2014. The couple has one son together.

In a remarkable display of resilience and dedication, Nakayama released a documentary about her life, accompanied by a soundtrack featuring her iconic songs. She also lent her voice to a charity single in support of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami relief efforts.

After a brief hiatus, Nakayama returned to the spotlight, rekindling her passion for television and film work. Throughout her illustrious career, she has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry, inspiring countless fans and cementing her status as a Japanese pop culture icon.
