Miguel Pérez, a man of diverse heritage, was born in San Jose, California, to a father who was a middleweight boxing champion, a lounge singer, and a big dreamer, and a mother who was a music lover, a green thumb, and a black belt in Catholicism. His childhood was a vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of colorful people, unforgettable melodies, religious dogma, and practical lessons in self-defense.
The spark that ignited his passion for acting was kindled on a Friday evening in October 1970, when he accompanied his 7th grade English teacher, Mrs. Walters, to a performance of Man of La Mancha at the San Jose Civic Light Opera. As Cervantes transformed himself on stage into Don Quixote, Miguel was hooked, and his focus turned to becoming a working actor.
Although he did take a detour into the academic life and spent four years serving in the US Marine Corps, Miguel's confidence grew, and he was ultimately able to move to New York City to pursue his dream. Since arriving in the Big Apple, he has worked alongside some of the biggest names in the industry, including Johnny Depp, Clint Eastwood, Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, and Hilary Swank, in films that have left a lasting impact on the world of cinema.
On television, Miguel has made appearances on hit shows such as ER, Seinfeld, The Good Wife, NCIS-LA, and CSI, to name just a few. His work on stage has been just as impressive, with collaborations with Theatre luminaries like Mark Rylance, Margaret Whitton, George Wolfe, Sir Patrick Stewart, and Kevin Kline.
Today, Miguel keeps a residence in Los Angeles and always carries his passport with him, ready to embark on the next exciting assignment that comes his way.
