Midi Z, a talented artist, hails from Myanmar, where he took his first steps in the creative world. He later pursued his artistic inclinations in Taiwan, where he honed his skills and refined his craft. One of his earliest and most notable achievements was the acclaimed graduation film, Paloma Blanca, which garnered international recognition and praise.
After making a name for himself in the film industry, Midi Z went on to direct his first feature-length film, Return to Burma, in 2011. This ambitious project was selected for the prestigious Rotterdam Tiger Competition and the Busan New Currents Competition, cementing Midi's status as a rising star in the world of cinema.
Fast forward to 2014, Midi Z premiered his latest feature film, Ice Poison, at the renowned Berlinale, where it received widespread critical acclaim. The film went on to win the top honor, Best Film, at the esteemed Edinburgh Film Festival, solidifying Midi's reputation as a masterful storyteller and a force to be reckoned with in the film industry.
