Michèle Stephenson, a visionary storyteller, draws inspiration from her multifaceted heritage, blending her Haitian and Panamanian roots to create a unique narrative practice that puts the lived experiences of the Black diaspora in the Americas at its forefront.

With a keen eye for innovative storytelling, Stephenson weaves together fiction, immersive, and hybrid forms to craft rich, multidimensional worlds and narratives that captivate and inspire.

Throughout her career, Stephenson's work has received widespread acclaim, earning four Emmy Award nominations and prestigious jury prizes at the Tribeca and Sundance Film Festivals.

In addition to her impressive body of work, Stephenson is also a distinguished Guggenheim Fellow and a recipient of the Creative Capital award, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the world of storytelling.
