Michael Lombardi's journey in the entertainment industry began in New York City, where he initially pursued a career in music. However, his passion for acting soon took center stage, leading him to enroll in the renowned William Esper Studio. Early on, he honed his craft by performing in various small theatre productions throughout the city.
Lombardi's breakthrough role came when he landed a series regular position as a rookie firefighter in the critically acclaimed FX series Rescue Me. This role not only earned him widespread recognition but also showcased his versatility as an actor. Currently, he is set to star in the upcoming Better Noise Films horror-thriller, The Retaliators, scheduled for release on September 14.
In The Retaliators, Lombardi plays the lead character, John Bishop, a devoted pastor who embarks on a perilous journey to uncover the truth behind his daughter's brutal murder. The film boasts an impressive cast, featuring Marc Menchaca, Joseph Gatt, and musical artists such as Five Finger Death Punch, Tommy Lee, Papa Roach, The Hu, Ice Nine Kills, Escape The Fate.
Prior to his success in Rescue Me, Lombardi made his television debut in an episode of Saturday Night Live, where he played a bartender alongside Kate Hudson. He then landed a guest spot on Denis Leary's acclaimed cop sitcom, The Job, and later starred in Leary's Comedy Central mockumentary, Contest Search Light.
Lombardi's career received a significant boost when he was cast as the lead in Rescue Me, a gritty comedic drama that explores the lives of New York City firefighters. He remained a series regular for the show's entire seven-season run, consisting of 100 episodes. His other notable television credits include Six Degrees, Castle, CSI Miami, Blue Bloods, and The Deuce, where he starred opposite James Franco.
In 2015, Lombardi made his big-screen debut in the Lions Gate feature film Last Knights, starring alongside Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman. He has since appeared in Cayman Went and Sno Babies. Most recently, he played a successful businessman in the romantic comedy film Plan B, starring Jamie Lee, Jon Heder, and Oscar nominee Tom Berenger.
