Growing up in the vibrant state of New Mexico, John Graves was deeply immersed in the rich cultural heritage of the Southwestern region. This formative experience instilled in him a profound appreciation for the great outdoors, as he developed a passion for horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and camping. Additionally, his childhood was marked by an enthusiasm for traditional Western dancing, which would later become an integral part of his multifaceted artistic expression.
As he transitioned to adulthood, Graves' pursuit of a career in the theatre took him to the esteemed stages of New York and California, where he has amassed nearly four decades of experience. His impressive résumé includes a wide range of productions, from the classical works of Shakespeare to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, regional theatre, and even daytime drama series such as All My Children. His versatility as a performer has also led him to explore experimental plays and short films, including notable projects like Binding Silence, Letting Go, The Tom Doyle Players, Vendetta, The Seer (filmed in Sardinia),and The Infidel (filmed in Utah).
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Graves is a devoted family man, married to the lovely Jennifer Lee Graves. Together, they have two children, Phillip Coquet and Rebecca Graves, and are also blessed with a loving grandson, Jimmy Buster Schoenkopf.
