Michael "Juan Bago" Diaz is a high-energy comedian who has evolved into a versatile entertainer through the years. He began his career in 2006 by writing, producing, and starring in his first independent film, "The Story of Juan Bago," which premiered at three film festivals.
The success of the slapstick-humored film led to Diaz's involvement in various projects as a producer, actor, and host. For years, he worked on Room 28 Comedy, where he served as both a producer and talent.
Diaz has honed his comedy and improvisation skills by studying at the Upright Citizens Brigade. He has worked on a range of projects, including producing and starring in the short film "Act of Love," working as a personality for Nuvotv's series Latino101, MTV Tr3s's Chisme Club, and HBO Latino's series Habla Ya! Parts 1 & 2.
His parody group, Juan Bago and O, created the viral hits "Pan con Queso," "Dominis in the Heights," and "Hooked on Hookah." Coverage of his videos has been featured in The New York Daily News, Telemundo, Yahoo News, Billboard.com, and the video on rotation on Mun2, MTV Tr3s, and Music Choice, accumulating over 2 million views.
Diaz worked with Lipton and Remezlca to host Brisk Bodega Chat, a series traveling the country interviewing up-and-coming artists. He produced and starred in "Studio Heads" webisodes, which were featured in the Daily News and Splitsider.com, and co-starred in the award-winning webseries "Henry."
His work on Univision's Flama channel, including videos that went viral like "Puerto Ricans vs. Dominicans" and "Dominican Uber," combined for over 20 million views. He is a part of the Voto Latino family of talent, where he speaks on panels across the country educating young activists on how to create engaging content.
Diaz was recently chosen by Verizon Wireless to star in a campaign called #Lomejordemi, spotlighting Latinos in their industries. He is a co-founder of Room28 Comedy group, which performs live and film sketches.
He has an award-winning podcast with Rachel Strauss Muniz called "Latinos out loud" on the Revolver Podcast Network, and his content can be seen on Broadway Video's Mas Mejor, Buzzfeed's Pero like, and Mitu.
